Sudha has recently started a new job. Although PF is being deducted from her salary every month, she hasn’t received any messages regarding it. She’s worried whether the company is depositing the PF money or not. If you’re also concerned about PF like Sudha, you can easily alleviate this worry. The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) offers various facilities through which you can get information about your PF in no time. Let’s find out four ways to check your PF balance.
First is through a missed call. EPFO provides various services to PF account holders through its portal. Each account holder is given a unique account number known as the UAN. If your UAN is registered on the EPFO portal, you can avail various online services. To know when your company last deposited contributions and the total amount in your account, give a missed call from your registered mobile number to 9966044425. You’ll receive an SMS immediately with details of the last contribution and your current balance. However, you can use this facility only if your UAN is linked to your bank account, Aadhaar, or PAN.
Another way is through SMS. If your UAN is activated, you can get information via SMS. You can find out your PF balance and the last deposited amount from your company through SMS. For this, you need to send EPFOHO <UAN> from your registered mobile number to 7738299899. Once the message is delivered, you’ll receive a complete detail via SMS.
You can always check your PF balance, through EPFO portal. If Sudha wants more information about her PF account, she needs to use EPFO’s portal services. Visit passbook.epfindia.gov.in/MemberPassBook/login and log in using your UAN and password. Once you enter the captcha, your passbook will open, displaying contributions from you and your employer. You’ll also see how much interest you’ve earned.
Another method is through the Umang App. To avail this service, install the Umang App on your mobile phone. After opening it, select the EPFO option. Click on the passbook to check your balance. Enter your UAN, click on Get OTP, and then log in by entering the OTP. Your PF passbook will open, showing all the details of your account.
For Sudha, the easiest way to check her PF balance is through a missed call. To avail online facilities related to the PF account, keep your KYC updated. If you’ve changed your mobile number, make sure to update it promptly.
