Kia India has launched the compact SUV 2021 Kia Seltos, which boasts of an array of features, at a starting price of Rs 9.95 lakh with the top model priced at Rs 17.65 lakh. Kia has also added a new gearbox option for the Seltos — an iMT ‘clutchless manual’. The company has started taking bookings for the car.
Two new variants — 1.5 Petrol 6iMT HTK+ and 1.4 T-GDI Petrol 6MT GTX(O) — have been added to the line-up.
After adding the iMT gearbox addition, Seltos is now available in 7 engine options. The 115hp, 1.5-litre petrol engine is now offering 6-speed manual, 6-speed iMT, and CVT gearbox options. The 140hp, 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine remains the same with the 6-speed manual and 7-speed dual-clutch auto options. And, the 115hp, 1.5-litre diesel engine also remains the same with 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque convertor automatic options.
Apart from the HTE variant, some of the other additions include wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay while the HTK + variant has the remote engine start feature. The iMT-equipped HTK+ model gets a beige seat, a powered sunroof and an auto climate control system.
The infotainment system in HTX variant accepts a wider variety of voice commands like the sunroof, the AC vents, the driver’s side power window and the front defogger.
For the first time, the G segment gets smart pure air purifiers with anti-virus and bacteria protection. The company claims that this air purifier completely kills viruses and bacteria. It also offers remote engine start to customers with manual transmission. The GTX+ variants also get updated paddle shifters.
The Seltos will be competing with Hyundai Creta, Nissan Kicks, Maruti Suzuki S-Cross, Renault Duster, MG Hector and Tata Harrier.
