Ford India on Wednesday launched the new variant of its popular compact SUV EcoSport. The EcoSport SE has been introduced as a variant. In this car, customers have been given the option to choose from two body styles. The new lineup is available in both petrol and diesel variants respectively, its petrol variants are priced at Rs 10.49 lakh and diesel variants are priced at Rs 10.99 lakh.

The newly launched Ford EcoSport SE variant is inspired by its American and European partners, where compact SUVs are sold without rear-mounted spare wheels. The new vehicle comes with an easy-to-use puncture kit, through which customers can repair the tire damage within a few minutes, with no need to remove the tire from its place.

Other features of the regular EcoSport are still available and these include 16-inch alloy wheels, projector headlamps, and more. A value addition is the inclusion of the puncture repair kit that vehicle owners can use to fix a deflated tyre. Ford says that one doesn’t have to remove the tyre from its position to fix the puncture using this kit.

Vinay Raina, marketing, sales and service executive director, Ford India, said, “Customers are increasingly attracted to the design and look, follow the global benchmark and look for unique things in vehicles, all that you will find in the new EcoSport SE. SE EcoSport gives customers a fun driving experience.

The company said that the new EcoSport SE is equipped with outstanding safety and best-in-segment technology like SYNC 3 which offers both diesel and petrol engine options. Its 1.5-litre three-cylinder petrol engine gives the power of 122 PS while the 1.5-litre diesel engine generates 100 PS power. Both engines will be mated to Ford’s responsive and agile 5-speed manual gearbox.

What’s different in the new EcoSport SE SUV?

The big difference between the current EcoSport and the new SUV is its rear. The EcoSport SE includes a new tailgate that comes with chrome slats and a new number plate housing. A new dual-tone rear bumper has also been given along with it. The SE trim also gets a set of 16-inch high gloss silver alloy wheels and the foglamps are of the new design. The rest of the exterior elements are much the same as before, including a hexagonal grille with chrome detailing and large projector headlights with LED daytime running lamps.
