Mutual funds invested the most in these sectors in May 2021

Gross non-performing assets were at 1.47% of gross advances end June 2021 as against 1.32% end March 2021 and 1.36% in the same quarter last year.
Crude oil surges to 3 year high
The chip shortage is likely to continue to affect sectors such as automobiles, and shortage of raw materials and unavailability of containers have further increased the lead time – the time taken between ordering a chip and its delivery- according to a report by Nomura quoted by Business Standard.
Capital Goods: The MF industry, bullish on the growth opportunities, increased the allocation in capital goods stocks to 5%. The sector ranks 8th on the list.
PSU Banks: Weightage in public sector banks rose to 3.4% in May 2021, highest in 15 months. The sector which was at the thirteenth spot a year ago, climbed to the ninth position in the allocation of mutual funds.
Most insurers have reported a higher number of claims in FY21. And, they are not expecting any respite even in FY22.
