To make banking services more accessible to its customers, Punjab National Bank (PNB) has announced reduction in ‘Doorstep Banking’ charges.
“In view of the pandemic, cash withdrawal service through Doorstep Banking has been reduced to Rs 50. It is for customers availing this service through vendors,” PNB said in a tweet.
The new concession in price will be available for two months, i.e. May and June and the discounted charges will be applicable up to two cash withdrawals in a month.
The minimum withdrawal limit for doorstep service is Rs 1,000 while the maximum limit is Rs 10,000. This facility can be availed via AePS (Aadhaar Enabled Payment System) or a debit card.
PSB Alliance, an umbrella set up of various Public Sector Banks, initiated the formation of Door Step Banking (DSB) for customers to avail major banking transaction services from the comfort of their houses.
“It (the facility) is being implemented with help of Door Step Banking (DSB) agents in 100 major Centers across the Country for offering different financial as well as non financial banking services,” the website quoted.
To get cash delivered at the doorstep, register yourself through Toll-Free number 1800-10-37-188 or 1800-12-13-721 or using the DSB app or by logging on to www.psbdsb.in.
After logging in, one can choose from multiple doorstep banking services available at your disposal. If you select ‘Cash Withdrawal’, enter the address for pick up/drop service. All the bank branches available within 10 kms range from the address will now be displayed.
You can select the branch and time slot for cash delivery. A service fee (Rs 50) request will pop up on your screen. Verify it and soon a text message consisting details of the agent appointed for delivery will be sent to your registered phone number. The agent will provide the service using micro-ATM.
Requests generated up to 3:00 pm should be completed within 3 hours of request generation while those generated after that will be completed by 1:00 pm next working day.
Apart from PNB, customers of State Bank of India, Union Bank of India (UBI), Bank of Baroda (BOB), Bank of India (BOI), Canara Bank, Central Bank of India, Indian Bank, Indian Overseas Bank (IOB), UCO Bank, Bank of Maharashtra and Punjab & Sindh Bank can also avail door step banking through the DSB app.
Other non-financial services are also chargeable.
What if you want to cancel a service request? Will it cost a fee?
