Jan Dhan account holders: The government has made it mandatory to link Aadhaar with Jan Dhan accounts. If an individual does not do it, the government subsidy will not be credited into the account. It can be done through ATM, SMS, online or by visiting the bank branch. Here we take a step-by-step look at how you can seamlessly complete the process:
Visit the ATM along with your ATM card and Aadhaar number. Insert card and then enter the PIN.
Select “Service” button. Click on the “Link Aadhaar” option. Enter your Aadhaar number and re-enter the same and click on the “Submit” button. The Aadhaar number is now linked with the PMJDY account.
Every bank has a unique phone number for Aadhaar and PMJDY account linked purpose. Use the registered mobile number to send an SMS. The Aadhaar number and the Jan Dhan Yojana bank account are successfully linked when you send the SMS.
Customers of State Bank of India (SBI) can link their bank accounts to Aadhaar by sending UID SPACE> Aadhaar number SPACE> account number to 567676 from their registered mobile number and it will linked automatically.
Visit the PMJDY’s official website. Login to the concern account. Click on “Link Aadhaar with bank account”. Enter your Aadhaar number, click on the “Submit” button.
Select the bank and hit the “Submit” button. Enter the OTP and click on the “Submit” button. After you complete these whole processes, Aadhaar will be linked to the PMJDY bank account, which would take 3-4 working days.
If you encounter some problem in the above stated modes, you can complete the process by visiting your bank’s branch.
Take the Aadhaar Card and bank passbook to the home branch. Remember to bring self-attested photo copies of your Aadhaar card and passbook. Ask for the ‘aadhar linking form’ and filled it up.
Hand over the form to the office along with self-attested copies. After you submit all of the documents, your bank account, and Aadhaar number will be linked within 2-3 working days. A confirmation message will also be sent to your Aadhaar-registered mobile phone.
