SBI customers won't be able to access internet and mobile banking on these days

SBI said customers will won't be able to access Internet banking, YONO and YONO Lite

State Bank of India customers won’t be able to access internet banking or phone banking over YONO platform on May 21, 22 and 23 due to technical upgradation and maintenance.

“We will be undertaking maintenance activities between 22:45 hrs on 21 May 2021 and 01:15 hrs on 22 May 2021 and between 02:40 hrs and 06:10 hrs on 23 May 2021,” said a tweet from the bank’s official handle.

No transaction

SBI said customers will won’t be able to access Internet banking, YONO and YONO Lite. In other words, this means, no transaction or banking-related job can be done during this period.

Earlier this week, RBI also informed all customers that NEFT service will not be available from 00:01 hrs to 14:00 hours on May 23, 2021.

The central bank mentioned that a technical upgrade of NEFT targeted to enhance the performance and resilience, is scheduled after the close of business on May 22, 2021.

RTGS operational

The RTGS system will continue to be operational as usual during this period. A similar technical upgrade for RTGS was completed on April 18, 2021.

But now with the new advisory from SBI, many customers would be facing problems.

To minimise the impact, SBI said that the maintenance work will be slotted at the dead of night – around 3.5 hrs on May 23 and 1.5 hrs on May 21-22.

Earlier in the past few weeks, major banks such as SBI, HDFC, BoB and ICICI Bank shut its digital services for technical upgradation and tightening of security features. But usually planned shutdowns are done late in the night to lessen the impact on the people.
