There will be further delay in re-flying of the airline Go First, which is facing financial crisis. Although the airline recently got permission from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) to resume its operations, there are still many problems that have prevented the airline’s planes from flying.
According to the latest information, the airline has cancelled its flights till July 27. Giving this information on Twitter, Go First apologised to its customers.
DGCA approval
Earlier, GoFirst had submitted a plan to the aviation regulator last month to restore its services. This plan was approved by the DGCA and due to this the airline’s services were expected to be restored. The DGCA had approved GoFirst to fly again with certain conditions. The regulator had said that it has given permission to the airline to fly 15 aircraft or 114 flights daily. But now it seems that it will take more time for the airline to resume its operations.
Never-ending crisis
Significantly, the airline had applied for initiation of bankruptcy proceedings in May this year. Since then his flights have been cancelled.
DGCA says that GoFirst can resume its operations only after the availability of interim funds and approval of the flight schedule from it.
It is necessary to have an arrangement for interim funding for the airline to fly. In June, the airline had received in-principle approval (in-principle approval) from lenders for interim funding of Rs 450 crore.
Legal tangle
A legal battle is on between the airline and its aircraft lessors. The functioning of GoFirst can be resumed only after the decision on pending writ petitions in the Delhi High Court, pending petitions in the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT).
The Delhi High Court will next hear the matter on 3 August.
