So far, about 7 lakh people have registered themselves in the recently launched ‘CRCS-Sahara Refund Portal’. Investors have claimed an amount of more than Rs 150 crore. The portal was started on July 18 to help investors recover money invested in four Sahara societies.
The government had said in March that the money would be returned to 10 crore investors of the four cooperatives within nine months. The government took this decision following a Supreme Court order directing the transfer of Rs 5,000 crore from the Sahara-SEBI refund account to the Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies (CRCS).
Whose claims will be settled?
