Covid-19: AAP MP launches ‘Auto Ambulance’ fitted with oxygen support for Delhiites

The 'Auto Ambulance' facility can be availed by reaching out to the following numbers – 9818430043/011-41236614

In a big relief to residents of the national capital, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Sanjay Singh launched ‘Auto Ambulances’ in Delhi to support Covid-19 patients.

These auto ambulances come fitted with oxygen support and can be availed by reaching out to the following numbers – 9818430043/011-41236614. This joint effort by the AAP MP and his wife Anita Singh has come at a time when Delhi is facing a severe shortage of ICU beds, oxygen cylinders, and other Covid care devices.

On May 4, Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain said a new 1,000 ICU bed connecting the LNJP and GTB hospital will soon be ready to facilitate Covid-infected patients.

In a tweet, Jain wrote, “All the employees are working hard to complete this task day and night. The addition of these 1000 ICU BEDS will provide considerable relief to critical Covid-19 patients.”

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal also announced financial aid of Rs 5,000 for almost 1.56 lakh autorickshaw and taxi drivers of the union territory.

Meanwhile, several youth leaders affiliated with various political organizations have also come forward to help the countrymen during a medical emergency of such a horrific scale. Indian Youth Congress’s head BV Srinivas, BJP’s Charu Pragya and Tajinder Bagga, and AAP’s Dilip Pandey are amongst the most active faces of the Covid relief program being run in the national capital.

These leaders are active both online (social media) and offline (on the ground) to serve as many people with the required facilities as possible.

There were a lot of on-ground volunteers during the pandemic’s first phase in 2020 as well but the situation was better then. People mostly requested ration and medicines which was easy to procure.

However, this time people are aggressively falling sick and even dying due to a lack of hospital beds and enough oxygen. Getting an ICU bed is the biggest task for volunteers working round the clock to provide relief to the patients.

In such a scenario, the Delhi government’s initiative to start auto ambulances and expanding hospital beds can prove to be great catalysts in easing the overall situation.
