Covid-19 | UP lockdown extended till May 4: Here are the details
Currently, 3,00,041 active cases are there in the state and total deaths have reached 11,943. The total cases tally in the state has reached 11,82,848 cases.
The Uttar Pradesh government has extended the weekend lockdown in the state till Tuesday. The state will be under lockdown, from April 30 to May 4 till 7 am in order to curtail the rising covid-19 cases. The night-long curfew on weekdays will also be continued throughout the state.
As per the latest development in UP, the lockdown restrictions will be followed from Friday night to Tuesday morning at 7 am. The state government has stated that all the markets, private and public offices will be closed from Friday night to Tuesday morning till further orders.
The government has advised people to remain indoors and only those involved in essential services will be exempted from the restrictions. Pharmacy shops, hospitals, and other essential services will be available during the lockdown.
For the second time, Allahabad High Court requested the UP government on April 27 to impose a lockdown on the state for at least two days, after its first request was declined by the state government, and subsequently by the Supreme Court.
