The state had already put in place the weekend curfew in its nine districts.
On Sunday the state’s home and health minister, Anil Vij tweeted that there will be a 7-day long lockdown in the entire state from May 3.
The state had registered 125 COVID fatalities on May 1, pushing the death toll in the state to 4,341, while 13,588 fresh infections peaked the tally to 5,01,566.
India had registered a single-day covid-19 death toll of over 3,689 deaths in the last 24 hours. With 3,92,488 new cases, the total active covid-19 cases count has reached more than 33 lakh and total fatalities have been pushed to 2.15 lakh, according to the Union health ministry data.
