Delhi 6-day lockdown: A look at what is allowed and what is not

The Delhi government on April 19 announced a 6-day lockdown (from 10 pm, April 19 until 5 am, April 26) as a measure to stop the surge in the nu8mber of Covid cases.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal made the announcement in a press conference earlier today.

Here’s a look at what is allowed:

— Shops dealing with food, groceries, fruits & vegetables, dairy & milk booths, meat & fish, animal fodder, pharmacies, opticians, medicines and medical equipments.

— Banks, insurance, ATMs and SEBI/stock related offices.

— Telecommunications, internet services, broadcasting and cable services, IT and IT-enabled services.

— Delivery of all essential goods including food, pharmaceuticals, medical equipments through e-commerce.

— Petrol pumps, LPG, CNG, petroleum and gas retail and storage outlets.

— Water supply, power generation, transmission and distribution and distribution under the services.

— Cold storage and warehousing services

— Manufacturing units of essential commodities

— Manufacturing units of non-essential commodities having onsite workers

— Production units or services, which require continuous process

— Delivery of food by way of home delivery/take away by restaurants/eateries

— Officers/officials of government of India and PSUs on presenting a valid ID and as per restrictions imposed by the Centre.

— Offices of GNCT of Delhi/autonomous bodies/corporations shall remain closed except those that are involved in essential services like health and all related medical establishments.

— All judicial officers/officials/staff members of all courts on presenting valid ID cards/servcie ID card/photo entry passes/permission letter issued by court administration

— All private medical personnel including and other hospital services on production of ID card.

— Pregnant women and patients for getting medical/health services.

— Those going for Covid testing or vaccination on presenting valid ID card

— Persons going to/coming from airports, railway stations, ISBT on presenting valid ticket.

— Officials serving in offices of diplomats.

— Electronic and Print media on presenting a valid ID card

— No restriction on inter-/intra-state movement of essential goods. No separate e-passes required

— Religious places permitted to open but no visitors will be allowed

— Public transport such as Delhi Metro (up to 50% seating capacity)/Public buses (up to 50% seating capacity)/autos & e-rickshaws (up to 2 passengers), taxis, cabs, gramin sewa and phat phat sewa (up to 2 passengers), maxi cab (up to 5 passengers)/ RTV (up to 11 passengers) shall be allowed to function within stipulated time for movement of above exempted people only

Not allowed:

All private offices, malls, shopping centres, weekly markets, manufacturing units, educational & coaching institutes, cinema & theatres, restaurants & bars, amusement parks, spa, gym, beauty parlours, swimming pools will remain closed

All social/political/sports/entertainment/academia/cultural gatherings are prohibited. Stadiums allowed to host national/international sporting events without spectators.
