India has achieved a significant landmark by administering over 31 crore Covid-19 vaccine doses as the nationwide vaccination drive has picked up pace.
With the availability of more vaccines and improvement in the vaccine supply chain and with the active support of States and Union Territories, the Union Government is continuously engaged in expanding the scope of the vaccination drive.
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare stated, “Over 60.19 lakh vaccine doses were administered to the beneficiaries in the last 24 hours alone. More than 31.17 crore vaccine doses have been provided free of cost by the Centre to States and Union Territories so far.”
It said that more than 1.45 crore Covid-19 vaccine doses are still available with the States and Union Territories to be administered further. The ministry further added that more than 19.10 lakh vaccine doses have been ordered and will be received by the States and Union Territories within the next 3 days.
Covid-19 vaccine is a powerful shield in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic. Vaccine provides vital immunity from the infection.
