The government on April 21 said the registration process on the CoWin portal for vaccination of those above 18 years will start from April 28.

The registrations will start on the #CoWIN platform and Aarogya Setu App from 28th April 2021 onwards. Stay informed, stay safe,” according to the government of India’s official Twitter handle.

On April 19, the government had announced that the vaccination drive for citizens above 18 years of age will start from May 1. Currently, the inoculation drive is limited to citizens above 45 years of age.
MyGovIndia had earlier tweeted, “Speaking about the recent #COVIDVaccine related decision, PM @narendramodi said that after 1st May, every person aged above 18 years can be #Vaccinated. Half of the vaccine produced in India will go directly to the states and hospitals. #IndiaFightsCorona.”
After the statement, states like Uttar Pradesh, Assam, Kerala, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Sikkim announced free covid vaccines for all adults.
