Amidst the massive spike in covid-19 cases, the center has decided to open the vaccination drive for people above the age of 18 from May 1, 2021. The announcement comes after a high-level meeting chaired by PM Narendra Modi’s with leading the doctors and pharma companies on the prevailing covid crisis. The recent covid-19 cases also indicated a higher rate of transmission in kids and young population, this time. In view of the given situation, the phase 3 of the Covid-19 vaccination will be much more ‘liberalized and accelerated’.
Reportedly, the government has made it clear that the vaccination process will happen the same as earlier. It will provide free vaccination to eligible health workers, frontline corona warriors, and people above the age of 45 years.
Private Hospitals would have to procure their supplies of Covid-19 vaccine exclusively from the 50% supply earmarked for other than government’s channel.
To take the jab, you can book an appointment on the central government introduced CoWin portal or CoWin App. The CoWin app can be downloaded from Google Play Store or Apple’s App Store. The beneficiary can self-register themselves as well as three others using the same mobile number. The slots will be available for a specific time window, and appointments can be scheduled for any slot time, as per availability and space. The applicant can choose the vaccination center, date, and time in any state, he wants to get the vaccination.
Here is a step by step guide to register on:
CoWin Portal
Step 1: Log in on the official website of cowin.gov.in and enter your mobile number.
Step 2: You will receive an OTP on your phone.
Step 3: Click on the verify button and enter the OTP.
Step 4: It will redirect you to the Registration for Vaccination page.
Step 5: Enter all the details like id-proof, any co-morbidities etc.
Step 6: A confirmation message will be sent to your registered mobile number.
Step 7: Click on the account details tab and you can schedule your appointment for the vaccination jab.
CoWin App:
Step 1: Open the CoWin app and enter your mobile number
Step 2: Enter the OTP once you receive it and click tap Verify.
Step 3: The registration page appears
Step 4: Fill in your personal details including name, age, gender, and more.
Step 5: Upload the required documents.
Step 6: Tap on the register button.
Step 7: Select the health center and schedule an appointment for any available date.
Step 8: Book an appointment to successfully register yourself for the COVID-19 vaccine.
