The richest billionaires in India, Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani, have featured in top 15 in the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, which is a list of top 500 richest people in the world. Reliance Industries Limited, MD and CEO, Mukesh Ambani, has secured the 12th rank in the index, while, Adani Group Chairman, Gautam Adani, is on the 14 rank. On a year-to-date basis, Ambani’s wealth has increased by $13.7 billion. While, Adani has become reacher by $16.2 billion. According to the index, the former’s current net wealth stands at $110 billion, while, that of the latter is at $100 billion. The latter’s wealth has jacked up more than Ambani’s, even then, he lags behind his counterpart by two ranks in the index.

Year-to-date, Ambani became richer by $13.7 billion. Majority of his wealth is derived from his holding in publicly traded Reliance Industries. The company’s scrip is up 10 per cent YTD.

Year-to-date, Adani has become wealthier by $16.2 billion. The bulk of his fortune is derived from his stakes in six publicly listed traded companies that are part of the Adani Group.
Interestingly, Adani was once the fourth richest person before the Hindenburg report was made public. Due to allegations of which he saw his wealth plunge by 60 per cent. But, after he was able to prove all allegations wrong, the shares of group companies have only surged in the recent past.
