Out of the 50 offers made by the country's largest power producer, 30 women executive trainees have joined the company till August 16 and more are expected to join, the company said.
As a part of its plan to start an all-women operation control room in the near future, National Thermal Power Corporation of India Limited (NTPC) has recruited a batch of women engineering executives, according to a report in The Times Of India. The company said the move is part of a process to work on improving its gender ratio wherever possible. Through its hiring practices, it has consciously promoted diversity in its workforce and has always believed in providing equal opportunity to all sections of the society.

Out of the 50 offers made by the country’s largest power producer, 30 women executive trainees have joined the company till August 16 and more are expected to join, the company said. These women engineering graduates were selected on the basis of their performance in GATE 2021 in electrical, mechanical, electronics and instrumentation disciplines.
The company is also offering special childcare leave option on adoption or delivery of child through surrogacy. In addition it also provides statutory benefits such as childcare leave with pay, sabbatical and maternity leave.
Currently, they are undergoing a customised induction cum training programme at NTPC’s state of the art regional learning institutes at Sipat, Vindhyachal and Simhadri.
