Petrol and diesel prices hold steady on October 19th, according to a price notification by state-run oil companies. In Delhi, petrol price was at Rs 105.84, while diesel price was at Rs 94.57. In Mumbai, a litre of petrol will cost Rs 111.77 and diesel Rs 102.52. Currently, fuel prices are highest in Mumbai among all metro cities. In Kolkata, a litre of petrol and diesel prices will cost Rs 106.43 and Rs 97.68, respectively.
Petrol used in two-wheelers and cars now costs almost 33% more than the price at which aviation turbine fuel (ATF) is sold to airlines. ATF in Delhi costs Rs 79,020.16 per kilolitre or Rs 79 per litre.
Petrol prices in Chennai will cost Rs 103.01, while diesel prices will cost Rs 98.92. In Bengaluru, a litre of petrol will cost Rs 109.53 and diesel Rs 100.37. In Hyderabad, a litre of petrol and diesel will cost Rs 110.09 and Rs 103.18, respectively.
In Vijayawada, petrol price costs Rs 111.76, while diesel price is being retailed at Rs 104.28 respectively. Currently, Vijayawada has the highest fuel prices among all south Indian cities. Petrol and diesel prices in Visakhapatnam were being retailed at Rs 110.90 and Rs 103.43, respectively.
Petrol prices have already crossed the Rs 100-mark in more than 20 states and union territories – Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Jammu & Kashmir, Odisha, Manipur, Ladakh, Bihar, Punjab and others. Petrol and diesel prices get revised in India every day at 6 am.
