Petrol prices were hiked by 40 paise a litre while diesel prices went up by 38 paise on October 14, according to a price notification by state-run oil companies. In Delhi, petrol price went up by 35 paise from Rs 104.44 to Rs 104.79. While diesel price increased by 34 paise from Rs 93.18 to Rs 93.52. In Mumbai, a litre of petrol will cost Rs 110.75 and diesel Rs 101.40. Currently, fuel prices are highest in Mumbai among all metro cities. In Kolkata, a litre of petrol and diesel prices will cost Rs 105.43 and Rs 96.63, respectively.
Petrol prices in Chennai will cost Rs 102.10, while diesel prices will cost Rs 97.93. In Bengaluru, a litre of petrol will cost Rs 108.44 and diesel Rs 99.26. In Hyderabad, a litre of petrol and diesel will cost Rs 109.00 and Rs 102.04, respectively.
In Vijayawada, petrol price costs Rs 110.70, while diesel price is being retailed at Rs 103.18 respectively. Currently, Vijayawada has the highest fuel prices among all south Indian cities. Petrol and diesel prices in Visakhapatnam were being retailed at Rs 109.85 and Rs 102.34, respectively.
Petrol prices have already crossed the Rs 100-mark in more than 20 states and union territories – Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Jammu & Kashmir, Odisha, Manipur, Ladakh, Bihar, Punjab and others. Petrol and diesel prices get revised in India every day at 6 am.
