Petrol prices increased by 26 to 30 paise, while diesel prices went up by 35 to 37 paise on October 9, according to a price notification by state-run oil companies. In Delhi, petrol price went up by 30 paise from Rs 103.54 to Rs 103.84. While diesel price increased by 35 paise from Rs 92.12 to Rs 92.47. In Mumbai, a litre of petrol will cost Rs 109.83 and diesel Rs 100.29. Currently, fuel prices are highest in Mumbai among all metro cities. In Kolkata, a litre of petrol and diesel prices will cost Rs 104.52 and Rs 95.58, respectively.
Petrol prices in Chennai will cost Rs 101.27, while diesel prices will cost Rs 96.93. In Bengaluru, a litre of petrol will cost Rs 107.46 and diesel Rs 98.15. In Hyderabad, a litre of petrol and diesel will cost Rs 108.02 and Rs 100.89, respectively.
In Vijayawada, petrol price costs Rs 109.75, while diesel price is being retailed at Rs 102.08 respectively. Currently, Vijayawada has the highest fuel prices among all south Indian cities. Petrol and diesel prices in Visakhapatnam were being retailed at Rs 108.89 and Rs 101.24, respectively.
Petrol prices have already crossed the Rs 100-mark in more than 20 states and union territories – Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Jammu & Kashmir, Odisha, Manipur, Ladakh, Bihar, Punjab and others. Petrol and diesel prices get revised in India every day at 6 am.
