Petrol price on August 27: Check rates in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata and other cities

Petrol Prices Today (27 August 2021): In Delhi a litre of petrol and diesel will cost Rs 101.49 and Rs 88.92 respectively

Petrol prices have already crossed the Rs 100-mark in more than 20 states and union territories - Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Jammu & Kashmir, Odisha, Manipur, Ladakh, Bihar, Punjab and others. Petrol and diesel prices get revised in India every day at 6 am.

Petrol and diesel prices remained stable on August 27, state-run oil companies notified. After holding static for over a month, the auto fuel prices started softening last week.

Petrol price in Delhi was unchanged at Rs 101.49 per litre, while diesel was at Rs 88.92 per litre. In Mumbai, a litre of petrol will cost Rs 107.52 and diesel at Rs 96.84. Currently, fuel prices are highest in Mumbai among all metro cities. In Kolkata, a litre of petrol and diesel prices will cost Rs 101.82 and Rs 91.98, respectively.

Petrol price have already breached Rs 100-mark in major cities. On August 13, the Tamil Nadu government had announced a reduction in the petrol cess by Rs 3 during the state level budget session. This was done to bring down the skyrocketing prices. The move will cost the state treasury close to Rs 1,160 crore.

Petrol prices have been hiked for 41 days in the current fiscal.

Petrol price in Chennai increased by Rs 1.93 from Rs 99.20 to Rs 101.13. While diesel prices also increased by Rs 1.91 from Rs 93.52 to Rs 95.43. Petrol prices in Pondicherry declined by Rs 2.42 from Rs 101.81 to Rs 99.39. While diesel prices remained the same at Rs 92.73

In Bengaluru a litre of petrol will cost Rs 104.98 and diesel Rs 94.34. In Hyderabad, a litre of petrol and diesel will cost Rs 105.54 and Rs 96.99 respectively.

In Vijayawada, which has highest auto fuel prices among all South Indian cities, petrol and diesel are being retailed at Rs 107.35 and Rs 98.33, respectively.
