The prices of petrol and diesel were hiked again by 30 paise and 35 paise by the oil marketing companies today. This has led to a fresh surge in the price of petrol to Rs 89.29 per litre and diesel to Rs 79.7 in Delhi. Fuel prices have been on the rise since February 9. In the past eight days, prices have gone up by Rs 2.34 per litre for petrol and Rs 2.57 for diesel. On the other hand, in several districts of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, petrol has almost neared Rs 100 per litre. In Madhya Pradesh's Balaghat, petrol surged to Rs 99.49 a litre. These are the highest ever retail prices of auto fuel across the country. The relentless hike in prices has also been criticised by the opposition parties.
