Stock market update: Arman Financial, HDFC shares edge lower up to 6%

Financials stocks were trading in red, with the S&P BSE Finance index decreasing 107.98 points or 1.35% at 7909.14 at 13:48 IST.

Sharp fall in crude price and US bond yields reflected the rising concern over fall in future growth.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Finance index, Arman Financial Services Ltd (down 5.64%), ICICI Bank Ltd (down 2.75%), JM Financial Ltd (down 2.54%), Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd (down 2.36%), Bajaj Finance Ltd (down 2.35%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Muthoot Finance Ltd (down 2.31%), HDFC Bank Ltd (down 2.3%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd (down 2.3%), Tourism Finance Corporation of India Ltd (down 1.89%), and Shriram Transport Finance Company Ltd (down 1.6%).

On the other hand, New India Assurance Company Ltd (up 19.99%), General Insurance Corporation of India (up 19.97%), and Central Bank of India (up 19.96%) turned up.

At 13:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 463.12 or 0.9% at 51240.71.

The Nifty 50 index was down 103.85 points or 0.68% at 15105.05.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 114.61 points or 0.58% at 19997.9.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 30.44 points or 0.45% at 6768.69.

On BSE,1513 shares were trading in green, 1330 were trading in red and 165 were unchanged.
