According to reports, the central govt employees are expected to get the full payment of DA starting from July 1. This payment can be made in three installments. Also, this payment will be calculated as per the 7th Pay Commission.
Due to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic, the payment of DA to the central employees and the last three installments of DR of pensioners were stopped. This includes the installments of January 1, 2020, July 1, 2020 and January 1, 2021.
It is worth noting that in January 2020, the dearness allowance of central employees was increased by 4% and later in June, 2020, it was increased by 3%. To add to this, the dearness allowance was increased by 4% in January this year as well.
Therefore, when the decision on DA payment is made, the central employees will get 2 years dearness allowance in the account along with arrears.
