As the second wave of Covid-19 begins to slow down, many domestic and multinational companies have announced to ramp up the hiring process in their organizations.
Experts believe that with lockdown restrictions easing and the economy reviving, companies in India are likely to witness steady growth in hiring activity from June onwards.
Sectors that will lead the hiring activity will be IT, IT-enabled companies, healthcare, and pharmaceuticals, etc.
upGrad
Edtech firm upGrad has announced to hire over 1,000 people in India in the next three months across departments to address the growing demand of the company.
The employment opportunities offered by upGrad will be across departments like learning experience, delivery, marketing, and program, along with sales which will remain predominant.
Airtel
Bharti Airtel had also announced expansion plans in its digital segments and scale up the hiring across its digital verticals by 150%.
“This massive talent ramp-up is rooted in Airtel’s strategy of in-sourcing a large part of its digital processes in order to build products with much sharper customer focus,” a company spokesperson told media.
Fulcrum Digital
Fulcrum Digital, a small-sized US tech company, also stated that it will be hiring nearly 500 employees in India in 2021.
The IT company, which has the highest dependence on India from a human resources front, will add 750 digital technology specialists during the year, of which 65% or a little less than 500 will be added in India, it said in a statement.
All the new hires will be experienced professionals in roles like programme managers, technical architects, data engineers, and full-stack developers, it said.
