On Sunday night, Amazon’s online store grappled with widespread outages. This was the second broad disruption to services since late June, according to the outage monitoring website Downdetector. On several regional domains, the online store displayed error messages. Many were unable to access products listed on the domain including the United States, India, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and Singapore.
Responding to this an Amazon spokesperson said, “We’re sorry that some customers may be experiencing issues while shopping. We appreciate your patience as we work to resolve the issue.”
According to Downdetector, more than 38,000 user reports stated issues with Amazon’s online store site. Around 500 users also reported problems with the Amazon Web Services.
About 80% of the issues reported were with its website, while 15% were with log-ins and 5% with its check-out services.
In June, multiple users experienced a brief outage on Amazon platforms including Alexa and Prime Video before services were restored.
