The Chief Minister of Karnataka BS Yediyurappa has announced his resignation today. Addressing the two-year anniversary of the state government, Yediyurappa got emotional as he shared the news of the resignation. He will be submitting his resignation to the Governor post-lunch.
“When (Atal Bihari Vajpayee) was Prime Minister he asked me to be a minister at the Centre. But I said I will be in Karnataka,” Yediyurappa said in an emotional address in the Karnataka assembly.
The 78-year-old, chief minister also said that he will work to strengthen the party as per the Centre’s expectations and bring it back to power.
“It has always been an agnipariksha (trial by fire) for me. These last two years it was Covid,” he added.
Yediyurappa was speaking at an event organised to mark his government’s two years in office at Vidhana Soudha.
