India has reported 41,195 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours. The total recoveries across the country so far are 3,12,60,050. According to the health ministry’s data, 39,069 patients recovered during the last 24 hours.
The active caseload is currently at 3,87,987. The cumulative total of cases till now is 3.20 crore. The national recovery rate of Covid-19 has increased to its highest ever at 97.45% with 39,069 patients recovering during the last 24 hours till 8:00 am. The active cases constitute 1.21% of total cases, the lowest since Mar 2020.
The weekly positivity rate stands below 5%, at 2.23%. The daily positivity rate currently stands at 1.94%, less than 3% for the last 17 days.
The testing capacity has also been substantially ramped up to 48.73 crores in the country.
Cumulative vaccine doses administered so far have reached 52.36 crores.
More than 53.24 crores (53,24,44,960) vaccine doses have been provided to States and UTs so far, through all sources and a further 72,40,250 doses are in the pipeline.
Of this, the total consumption including wastages is 51,56,11,035 doses (as per data available at 8 am on 11 August).
More than 2.25 crore (2,25,03,900) balance and unutilized COVID Vaccine doses are still available with the states and UTs and private hospitals to be administered.

The new phase of universalisation of the vaccination programme commenced from June 21. Under the programme, the central government made inoculation free of cost for all adults. Vaccines were earlier free for people above 45 years of age.
The government will procure and supply free of cost 75% of the vaccines being produced by vaccine manufacturers in the country to states /UTs, it said.
More than 70% of the deaths occurred due to comorbidities, according to the ministry.
India crossed the grim milestone of two crore on May 4 and three crore on June 23.
