Fully vaccinated citizens will now be able to get their vaccination certificate through WhatsApp in just a few seconds, Mansukh Mandaviya, union health minister’s office said on August 8.

The people download their vaccination certificates from the CoWin portal at present.
Shashi Tharoor, senior Congress leader who has actively critique the government’s Covid management, also praised the decision on delivering vaccination certificates via WhatsApp.

Cumulatively, 50,86,64,759 vaccine doses have been administered through 58,79,068 sessions, as per the provisional report till 7 am on Monday. 16,11,590 vaccine doses were administered in the last 24 hours.

The countrywide vaccination drive was rolled out on January 16 with healthcare workers getting inoculated. The new phase of universalisation of the vaccination programme commenced from June 21. Under the programme, the central government made inoculation free of cost for all adults. Vaccines were earlier free for people above 45 years of age.
The Union Government is committed to accelerating the pace and expanding the scope of Covid-19 vaccination throughout the country.
