India has reported 30,570 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours. The total recoveries across the country so far are 3,25,60,474. According to the health ministry’s data, 38,303 patients recovered during the last 24 hours. The active caseload is currently at 3,42,923 with a cumulative total of more than 3.33 crore cases. The national recovery rate of Covid-19 has increased to 97.64% with 38,303 patients recovering during the last 24 hours till 8:00 am. The active cases account for less than 2% of total cases, currently at 1.03%.
Total fatalities have reached 4,43,928 with 431 daily deaths being recorded, according to data updated by the ministry at 8 am.
Of 4,43,928 deaths, Maharashtra recorded 1,38,277, Karnataka reported 37,537, Tamil Nadu had 35,246, 25,083 have been from Delhi, 22,987 from Kerala, 22,885 from Uttar Pradesh, and 18,613 from West Bengal, the data showed.
The weekly positivity rate stands at 1.93%, less than 3% for the last 83 days. The daily positivity rate was reported to be less than 3% at 1.94% for the last 17 days.
The testing capacity has also been substantially ramped up to 54.77 crore in the country.
Cumulative vaccine doses administered so far have reached 76.57 crores. In the month of August, more than 18.3 crore doses have been administered.
India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage has crossed 76 Crore landmark milestone (76,49,36,158) on September 15. More than 57 lakh (57,10,380) vaccine doses had been administered till 7 pm on September 15.
The new phase of universalisation of the vaccination programme commenced from June 21. Under the programme, the central government made inoculation free of cost for all adults. Vaccines were earlier free for people above 45 years of age.
The government has provided more than 76.11 crore Covid-19 vaccine doses to states and UTs so far, the Union Health Ministry said.
According to the ministry, more than 70% of the deaths that have been reported are due to comorbidities.
