India is continuously strengthening its fight against Covid-19 and administering a higher number of vaccine doses. In a landmark milestone, India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage has crossed 68 crore landmark milestone(68, 37, 29,058) on September 4, 2021. More than 62.25 lakh (62, 25,922) vaccine doses were administered all over the country in the last 24 hours.

The government of India has provided more than 66.89crore (66,89,80,635)vaccine doses to States/UTs at free of cost channel and through direct state procurement category. Further, more than 1.56 crore doses (1,56,96,450) are in the pipeline. The states and UTs still have more than 4.37Cr (4,37,83,160) balance and unutilized Covid vaccine doses.

Union health minister Mansukh Mandaviya took to Twitter to laud the vaccination drive for clocking over 68 crore doses till now. “Moving onwards & upwards! Congratulations, to all Indians as the nation successfully administers 68 crore #COVID19 vaccine doses. Keep this up and continue getting vaccinated in large numbers,” tweeted Mandaviya on September 4, 2021.

In terms of statewise vaccination data, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan are the states that have given the highest number of vaccine doses and immunised a large section of their population.
