Customers still paying higher price for Domino’s pizza even after price cut!

Various media houses have reported that US pizza chain Domino’s has cut large size pizza prices by more than 50 per cent in India. But on inquiring at various outlets of the pizza chain, it has been found the outlets haven’t yet received any official statement from Domino’s for any price reduction. In fact, store managers of various outlets in Delhi NCR said forget about price reduction they were instead instructed to hike prices on some varieties of pizzas in the recent past.

Domino’s quick service restaurant (QSR) outlets continue to sell pizzas at old elevated prices. Even its app, ‘Domino’s Pizza-Food Delivery,’ continues to show old prices for both vegetarian and non-vegetarian large size pizzas in different cities in the country.

Earlier media houses had reported, that Domino’s had sent messages to its subscribers that it had cut large size vegetarian pizza prices from ₹799 to ₹499. That’s a huge cut in prices. Would have been cheers for pizza lovers! Reportedly, messages were also sent that non-vegetarian large size pizza prices have been also cut. The pizza chain has reportedly cut large size non-vegetarian pizza prices from ₹919 to ₹549. That would have been huge price cut of ₹370. Various media houses have also reported that Pizza Hut has also cut prices.

Apparently, increasing competition from other emerging pizza chains and cloud kitchens in the nation is the reason behind the reported price cut decision initiated by both the US based pizza chains. Some of these brands are Tossin, Ovenstory, MojoPizza, La Pino’z, South Korea’s GoPizza and Leo’s Pizzeria.

The price cut has not yet been implemented on Domino’s outlets. It might be that outlets will implement it after some days. Till then, hold on to your taste buds. And relish it later on at cheaper rates!
