A study has indicated that those who go to bed before 10 in the night are more vulnerable to heart diseases while going to bed late too can also result in metabolic diseases and lifestyle disorders.
The Times Of India reported that according to a study by the medical journal Sleep Medicine, which came to the conclusion after screening 5,633 deaths and 4,346 major cardiovascular deaths from 21 countries, sleeping at the right time matters too as it has an effect on the circadian rhythm.
What is Circadian Rhythm?
Circadian Rhythms are the mental and physical changes that regulate the sleep cycle and repeats after every 24 hours. It controls the body’s internal clock. It is affected by the daily sleep-wake cycle. When sleep cycle is affected, the circadian rhythm gets tampered and body becomes more vulnerable to heart diseases. Due to disrupted circadian rhythm, melatonin and cortisol hormones in our body can get affected.
It is often not possible to have control over the sleep cycle. According to the doctors, body can be trained to follow a different rhythm if exposed to regular exercise, proper sun light and less caffeine. Early to bed is not always a wise option.
