The selected 37 industries in the new series are categorized as 30 industries from the manufacturing sector, four from the mining sector and three industries from the plantation sector.
The Central government is going to take a significant initiative for the unorganised workers in the country. The ministry of labour and employment will launch an online portal- e-SHRAM portal on August 26 for about 437 crore unorganised workers in India. With this initiative, the government aims that the benefits of social security schemes will reach all the unorganised workers.
In this regard, the EPFO also tweeted that for the first time after independence, on the principle of Shramev Jayate, e-SHRAM portal, a National Database of Unorganised Workers, will be launched on August 26, 2021, to connect all unorganized workers of the nation with the mainstream.
