East Central Railway has invited online applications for recruitment to apprentice posts under the Apprentice Act 1961 for its different workshops and divisions. A total of 2,206 vacancies will be filled up in various trades through this recruitment process. The online application process has started. Through this recruitment process, Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC) will fill vacancies in different units of East Central Railways (ECR) for various trades including fitter, turner, welder, electrician, mechanist. Candidates can apply for any of the units. Take a look at unit wise vacancy details:

Plant depot/ Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyaya: 135 posts
Samastipur division: 81 posts
Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Division: 892 posts
Carriage and Wagon Repair Workshop/ Harnaut: 110 posts
Mechanical Workshop/ Samastipur: 110 posts
Sonpur Division: 47 posts
– Educational qualification: The candidate must have passed the 10th class examination (under 10+2 examination system) or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks, in aggregate, from a government recognised board and also should possess the National Trade Certificate in the concerned trade issued by NCVT or SCVT.
– Age limit: The candidates should have attained the age of 15 years. And the maximum age limit is 24 years as on January 1, 2021. Relaxation in the upper age limit is applicable for reserved category candidates as per government guidelines.
– Medical fitness: A candidate should be free from evidence of any contagious or infectious disease.
The selection of candidates will be on the basis of merit. The merit list would be prepared taking the average of the percentage marks obtained by the candidates in both matriculation and ITI examination giving equal weightage to both.
The application fee for candidates is Rs 100, whereas no fee is applicable to female/ PwBD/ ST/ SC category candidates.
Training will be arranged in accordance with the standards and syllabus prescribed by the Central Apprenticeship Council. The selected candidates will be paid a stipend during apprenticeship at the applicable rates as per extant instructions.
Before commencement of the apprenticeship training in the designated trade, the selected candidate has to sign a contract of apprenticeship training with the authority.
