India’s top BFSI leaders came together to launch Money9, India’s first multi-lingual digital platform for Personal Finance.
With ‘Financialising India’ as the core theme, Money9 seeks to address the gap areas in the realm of financial literacy and help citizens take informed financial decisions.
The launch panel included Nilesh Shah, Member, Prime Minister’s Economic Advisory Council, Adhil Shetty, CEO of BankBazaar.com, Nithin Kamath, founder and CEO, Zerodha, Kamesh Goyal, founder, Digit Insurance and Rahul Chari, co-founder and CTO, PhonePe.
Shah, one of the most credible voices in the Indian financial services sector, aptly highlighted the importance of a platform like Money9 when he said that despite attempts by regulators, Indians are yet to realise the importance of financial literacy.
Shetty noted how the pandemic has influenced consumer behaviour and citizens are now whole-heartedly embracing new modes of transactions.
Kamath admitted that online broking got a huge boost due to the coronavirus pandemic as it gave people the time to reflect on their finances and first-time investors were drawn to his platform.
Chari said that adoption of digital payments has seen a surge after the pandemic. He also said his platform is the largest seller of digital gold, reflecting the rise in the users across the country.
Goyal said in the last few years, the awareness towards health insurance products has increased but it is yet to be seen in other areas such as household insurance, it is still low.
A ‘news service’
Money9 is not another news offering, it is a news service and financial literacy is the primary driver of its vision.
