Global companies are increasingly wooing talent in India as hiring has become location agnostic in the pandemic-hit world, according to a media report.
Skilled talent in India is most sought after in non-IT fields across digital marketing, content, design, accounting, administrative, project management, supply chain and even manufacturing, besides IT, the Times of reported quoting various recruitment companies. Proficiency in using English comes as an advantage to Indian talent.
Sanjay Shetty, head (research and selection) Randstad India, is quoted as saying that the hiring firm is receiving direct inquiries from customers, adding that global manufacturers, who have only liaison offices in India, are keen on hiring senior people. The hires remain on Randsand’s payroll till the companies firm up their India plans, he further said. According to Shetty, organisations in Portugal, Spain, Bulgaria, Belgium and Singapore, among others, are hiring people on Randstad’s rolls, as they do not have offices in India . Randstad is employing the hire-and-deploy model even for senior roles, he said.
TeamLease Services EVP and co-founder Rituparna Chakraborty told the Times of India said professionals in talent acquisition are much sought after. There is very good demand from the Middle-East, while England and some European countries are also showing interest in hiring talent in India, she said.
Shetty said those organisations hiring Indian talent do not want talent to migrate, but want them to work from India.
Sekhar Garisa, CEO of Monser.com, said, recruitments are now location agnostic. Many are looking for talent that can work from India.
In the last 10-15 years, the difference between professionals working abroad and those at home have narrowed.
Shetty said cross-border hiring could account for 10% of the business of professional recruitment firms in the next 2-3 years from 2-3% at present.
