Haryana government announces relief for Covid orphans, check details

Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said young girls will be provided free education at Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya till class 12

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on May 29 announced a number of measures to ensure children who have lost their parents to Covid-19 don’t suffer due to lack of financial resources.

“Under the Mukhyamantri Bal Seva Yojana, financial help will be ensured to children who lost their parents/caretakers (due to Covid-19). We will provide 2,500 per month to orphans till the age of 18 years,” Khattar tweeted. 

Apart from this Rs 12,000 (per year) will be provided to them for other expenses. Recurring deposit accounts will be opened for the children who will stay at Bal Seva Sansthan. Rs 1500 will be deposit into their accounts till the age of 18 years, he added.

Khattar said young girls will be provided free education at Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya till class 12.

He also said Rs 51, 000 will be deposited into their bank accounts & will be provided to them with interest at the time of their marriages.
