Infosys took up emergency maintenance of the income-tax-portal

The glitches in the new income tax portal have put Infosys in a spot of bother and its top executive on July 14 assured that the company is working hard to resolve them.

Addressing reporters after the announcement of the company’s Q1FY22 results, he said it is the “single largest priority” for the company at present.

“Several of the functionalities are already working there is a large number of returns that are being filed. Some work still needs to be done but we are confident that all these situations will be addressed in a step-by-step manner and all issues will be resolved,” he said.

The new tax portal went live in June this year but it got off to a rough start.

Earlier, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman held a meeting with Infosys officials to seek status of the issues with the new portal.
