India Post, the world’s largest postal network, has invited applications for recruitment to the post of Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) in Andhra Pradesh circle. This recruitment drive is being conducted to fill a total of 2,296 vacancies. Through this process, India Post will fill vacancies in posts of Branch Post Master (BPM), Assistant Branch Post Master (ABPM) and Dak Sevak (DS). There are 23 postal circles with more than 1.54 lakh post offices across India.
The application process has already began. Eligible and interested candidates can apply online till November 18, 2021.

Eligibility criteria
– Educational qualification
i) Secondary school examination pass certificate of 10th standard with pass marks in mathematics, local language and English;
(ii) Compulsory knowledge of the local language.
– Age limit:
Between 18 years and 40 years as on January 27, 2021. Relaxation in the upper age limit is applicable for SC, ST, OBC and divyang candidates as per government guidelines.
– Knowledge of cycling:
Knowledge of cycling is a prerequisite condition for all GDS posts.
Salary
1) Level 1 in time-related continuity allowance (TRCA) slab
BPM: Rs 12,000 per month
ABPM/Dak Sevak: Rs 10,000 per month
2) Level 2 in time-related continuity allowance (TRCA) slab
BPM: Rs 14,500 per month
ABPM/Dak Sevak: Rs 12,000 per month
However, the initial fixation of TRCA (Time Related Continuity Allowance) will be done on the first stage of Level-I of the respective category.
Application fee
Unreserved/ OBC/ Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) male/ trans-man: Rs. 100
SC/ ST/ Persons with Disabilities (PwD) category and female/ trans-woman: No fee
Application process
Interested and eligible candidates will have to register themselves in the portal through indiapost.gov.in or appost.in/gdsonline on or before November 18, 2021. Only one registration is to be made for one candidate.
