India records 8,488 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours

A decline of 4,271 cases has been recorded in the active Covid-19 caseload in the last 24 hours

The letter also requested that samples of travelers turning positive are sent to the designated IGSLS promptly as per the INSACOG guidance document issued by this ministry dated 15 July, 2021.

India recorded 8,488 new Covid-19 cases on Monday, taking the total tally of Covid-19 cases to 3,45,18,901. This is the lowest on 538 days. The active cases on the other hand declined to 1,18,443, according to data from the Union Health Ministry.

Daily cases below 20,000

A decline of 4,271 cases has been recorded in the active Covid-19 caseload in the last 24 hours. Of the total infections, the active cases comprise 0.34% of the total infections, the lowest since March 2020. The ministry said that the national Covid-19 recovery rate was at 98.31% which is the highest since March 2020.

According to the data, the death toll increased to 4,65,911 with 249 fresh fatalities. The daily rise in new Covid-19 cases has been below 20,000 for 45 straight days and less than 50,000 new cases have been reported on a daily basis for 148 days in a row.

India’s tally of Covid-19 crossed the 20-lakh mark on August 7, 2020, 40 lakh on September 5, 80 lakh on October 29, 90 lakh on November 20. By December 19, the country touched the one crore mark. On May 4, India crossed the two crore on May 4 and three crore on June 23.
