The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) has released a notification for recruitment of Assistant Commandant (Group ‘A’ Gazetted Officer) for 01/2022 batch. The total number of vacancies is 50, out of which 40 vacancies are for general duty and rest 10 are for technical (engineering & electrical).
Eligible male candidates can apply online from July 4, 2021.
Registration of ‘online’ application will be through Coast Guard recruitment website www.joinindiancoastguard.gov.in.
Last date of online application Jul 14, 2021. Admit cards will be available for print from Jul 20, 2021 onwards.
Only Indian citizens having following minimum qualifications are eligible to apply for this post.
Assistant commandant (GD): Born between July 01, 1997 to June 30, 2001 (Both dates inclusive).
Assistant commandant (tech): Born between July 01, 1997 to June 30, 2001 (Both dates inclusive).
Upper age relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC candidates as per government rules.
Educational qualifications:
Assistant commandant (GD): i) Bachelor’s degree from any recognised university with minimum 60% marks in aggregate; (ii) Mathematics and Physics as subjects up to intermediate or class XII of 10+2+3 scheme of education or equivalent with 60% aggregate in mathematics and physics.
Assistant commandant (tech): Engineering degree with 60% marks in aggregate or should have passed sections A and B examination from the Institution of Engineers (India) in some listed discipline with 60% marks; (ii) At least 60% marks in aggregate in physics and maths in XII class.
Only candidates who have cleared their final year/ final semester exams and completed their degrees are to apply.

Selection Procedure
Shortlisted candidates will be called for preliminary selection. The candidates who qualify preliminary selection will be called for final selection.
