Indian Railways: Trains cancelled ahead of festive season; Here's the complete list

Cancelled trains: Many trains of Northern Railway including Jammu Tawi Rajdhani and Uttar Sampark Kranti running from Delhi have been cancelled.

The 14 nights and 15 days journey by train which starts from Delhi's Safdarjung railway station will cover five prominent states in northeastern states like Guwahati, Kaziranga, and jorhat in Assam, Itanagar in Arunachal Pradesh, Kohima in Nagaland, Una Koti, Agartala and Udaipur in Tripura, Shillong and Cherapunji in Meghalaya. 

Indian railways has cancelled many trains due to the farmers’ agitation in Punjab. The farmers began an indefinite protest in Jalandhar on August 20, to raise sugarcane prices and issues related to payment of arrears. They blocked the movement of trains on the Ludhiana-Amritsar and Ludhiana-Jammu rail routes. In view of the agitation by the farmers, the Indian railways has canceled many trains.

The commuters of Delhi-NCR are facing problems due to the farmers’ protests. Many trains of Northern Railway including Jammu Tawi Rajdhani and Uttar Sampark Kranti running from Delhi have been cancelled.

83 trains affected

According to Northern Railway, 83 trains have been affected due to farmers’ agitation. Of these, 48 trains running on 22nd and 23rd August have been completely cancelled, 23 trains partially cancelled while 12 trains have been diverted.
