Jio hikes tariff for unlimited plans by 20%; Check details here

"In line with its commitment to further strengthen a sustainable telecom industry, where every Indian is empowered with a true digital life, Jio today announced its new unlimited plans", the release said. 

Reliance Jio Infocomm  said that it would be increasing its tariff for its unlimited plans by 20%, in a press release on Sunday. The new unlimited plans will be in effect from December 1st 2021 and can be opted from all existing touchpoints and channels, the release added.  The move comes after Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea revised their prepaid plans and announced a hike in tariffs last week.

JioPhone Plan increased by Rs 16

Currently, the basic unlimited voice and data plans is charged at Rs 129 with a 28 day validity. This includes 2GB per month data, with unlimited voice and 300 SMS. This will now be hiked to Rs 155, an increase of Rs 16.

The telco said that the JioPhone Plan will be increased by Rs 16 from Rs 75 to Rs 91. This will be vaild for 28 days with 3 GB per month, unlimited voice and 50 SMS. On the other hand, data add-ons will be increased by Rs 10, Rs 20 and Rs 50 for 6 GB, 12 GB and 50 GB.

The release further added that the new plans will provide the best value in the industry, providing the best-quality service at the lowest price globally.
