Modi said that India is investing in developing indigenous capabilities in diverse areas like 5G and 6G for the telecom sector, while giving an overview of the country's approach to new technologies.
In his Mann Ki Baat broadcast, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said lauded the success of India’s Covid vaccination drive. He said the achievement demonstrates the country’s potential which is now moving forward with renewed vigour after reaching the milestone of 100 crore vaccine doses.
Modi hailed healthcare workers for the vaccine milestone, saying he knew they would go to any length to vaccinate the country’s population.
The success of our immunisation programme illustrates India’s strengths as well as the force of the “sabka prayas” (shared effort) mantra, he said.
After reaching the milestone of 100 crore Covid vaccination shots, Modi stated that the country is moving forward with renewed vigour and excitement.
On October 21, India hit a big milestone in its Covid-19 vaccination programme, when the total number of vaccine doses administered in the country surpassed 100 million.
Modi also stated on his Mann Ki Baat radio show that India has always advocated for global peace, shown by the country’s contribution to the UN Peacekeeping Forces. India is also striving to enhance the popularity of Yoga and traditional wellness approaches.
The prime minister also commended the increase in the number of female police officers, noting that it has increased from 1.05 lakh in 2014 to over 2.15 lakh now.
The prime minister urged people to buy local products throughout the festive season, citing the ‘voice for local’ campaign.
