More than 1 crore Covid-19 vaccines administered today: Union health minister Mansukh Mandaviya

The government aims to vaccinate a record number of people, as a gift to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who celebrates his 71st birthday today.

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Twitter announced that over 1 crore Covid-19 vaccines have been administered in the country on Friday. He said that the government aims to vaccinate a record number of people, as a gift to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who celebrates his 71st birthday today.

Number of vaccine doses at 1.03 crore

In his tweet, it read, “On PM @NarendraModi ji’s birthday, as of 1:30 PM, the country has crossed the mark of 1 crore vaccines, the fastest so far and we are continuously moving forward. I believe that today we will all make a new record in the number of vaccinations administered and give it as a gift to the Prime Minister”.

The government had already administered vaccines 1,03,95,404 when it made the announcement.

Earlier in the morning today, the ministry had updated on its website that over 63,97,972 vaccine doses were administered in the last 24 hours. The country’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage surpassed the cumulative figure of 77.24 crore (77,24,25,744) as per provisional reports till 7 am today.
