Leaving the borders of the country is now impossible for anyone – not only perhaps in India but for citizens of all countries if they can’t produce evidence of Covid-19 vaccination.
According to the new rules, if an individual wants to go outside of India, he or she is required to link the vaccine certificate along with the passport.
If you have got both shots of the vaccine, here’s a step-by-step guide to link passport with the Covid-19 vaccination certificate.
-Visit http://cowin.gov.in and select the ‘Raise an Issue Option’ under the “Account Details” section.
-Click ‘Raise an Issue’ option and you will find three options along with ‘Add Passport Details’.
-Select the “Add Passport Details” option and you will be redirected to the next new page.
-Now select/enter the name for whom you want to add the passport details.
-Enter the passport number of the selected person under the “Enter Beneficiary’s Passport Number” section.
-Now you need to tick the box displaying that “I declare that this passport belongs to the beneficiary.”
-The name of the passport holder should be the same as mentioned on the vaccine certificate.
-Now click on “Submit Request” and you will get a message on your registered mobile number.
– Click on the “Certificate” button under the ‘Account Details’ section and download your passport-linked vaccine certificate.

You should crosscheck whether all the information is correctly has been put in the designated place, as a slight mismatched can land you in trouble.
You should check whether the beneficiary’s name in the passport and the vaccination certificate are the same including the spelling.
According to the health ministry, till July 1 India has administrated more than 33.55 crore vaccine doses, of which almost 6 crore people have both the doses of any of the three vaccines.
