Odisha government to recruit over 1,500 medical officers

The online registration process will start from August 7 and candidates with MBBS or equivalent degree are eligible for recruitment.

The Odisha government has initiated a special recruitment drive to fill up backlog vacancies for the post of medical officer (MO) in Group-A (Junior Branch) of Odisha Medical and Health Services cadre. Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) has already published an advertisement regarding this matter. Through this recruitment process more than 1,500 posts to be filled up are reserved for Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) category under Health and Family Welfare Department.
According to the notification, the online registration process will start from August 7, 2021 through the OPSC official website www.opsc.gov.in. The window remains open till August 21, 2021.

Vacancy details

Through this recruitment drive, OPSC is looking to fill 1,586 vacancies and out of which, 585 posts are reserved for the SC category and 1001 for the ST category.

Eligibility criteria

– Academic qualification: Candidates with MBBS or equivalent degree are eligible for this recruitment. A valid registration certificate under the Odisha Medical Registration Act is also necessary before issue of appointment order.

– Age:
 Between 21 years to 37 years as on January 1, 2021.

Selection process

Selection will be done on the basis of a written test only. The exam will be held as per the MCI syllabus for MBBS. The written exam will be held at Cuttack or Bhubaneswar.
