Odisha government is hiring 606 assistant professors; check details

Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) has invited applications for recruitment to the post of assistant professors in different disciplines for government degree colleges. The recruitment drive is being conducted to fill 606 vacancies in Group A of Odisha Education Service (OES). Out of 606 vacancies, 202 seats are reserved for women. The online application process will start from October 26, 2021.  Eligible and interested candidates can apply online till November 25, 2021. Vacancy details

As per the official notification, the total number of vacancies is 606, of which,  98  are for Scheduled Caste (SC), 136 for Scheduled Tribe (ST), 560 for Other Backward Classes (OBC), 66 for Socially and Economically Backward Classes (SEBC) and 306 are for general category.

Eligibility criteria

– Educational qualification:

Candidates should have possessed a master’s degree, with at least 55% of marks or its equivalent grade, in the concerned/ relevant/ allied subject from an Indian university or an equivalent degree from a foreign university. In addition, he or she has to clear the National Eligibility Test (NET) or must have acquired a PhD degree in the concerned or relevant or allied subject from an Indian or a foreign university.

Relaxation in minimum marks in postgraduate degree is applicable for reserved category candidates.

– Age limit:

Candidates must not be above 45 years of age and under 21 years of age on the last date of submission of the online application.  Relaxation in the upper age limit is applicable for reserved category candidates as per government guidelines.

Application fee

Candidates have to pay a non-refundable fee of Rs 400. But candidates belonging to SC, ST of Odisha and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) are exempted from fee payment.
